It is reported that about 20.1 million people are in need of health assistance in Yemen and that at least one child dies every 10 minutes due to preventable diseases, in addition to many people suffering from chronic diseases. Those with communicable diseases suffer from shortage of medicines as a result of import restrictions, cuts in salaries for health workers and doctors and difficulty to access health facilities.
