NAHR Organizes Training Workshop to Strengthen Waste Management in Addressing Climate Change

As part of the efforts to promote sustainable environmental practices and confront the effects of climate change, the National Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response (NAHR) organized a specialized training seminar entitled:

"Waste Management as a Tool to Address Climate Change: From Local Challenges to Sustainable Solutions", supported by the IHE Delft Institute.

The seminar, led by Eng. Saba Bawazir, highlighted the vital role of waste management in reducing emissions and enhancing the ability to adapt to the effects of climate change, through the development of the waste management system in its various stages, in accordance with international practices and standards.

The seminar included a set of scientific and applied axes, the most prominent of which are:

  • The importance of integrated waste management and its role in reducing emissions.
  • The relationship between waste management, climate change, and short-lived climate pollutants.
  • The role of innovation and the circular economy in reducing waste production.
  • Enhancing the participation of local communities and government entities in adopting sustainable solutions.

✨ NAHR is committed to spreading environmental awareness and supporting national efforts towards a more sustainable environment through the implementation of programs and initiatives that contribute to the development of waste management and enhance its role in addressing the challenges of climate change.
