NFDHR launches WASH project in Ma



Work officially launched on the activities of emergency response project in WASH and Camp Management for IDP gatherings in Dhamar and Sa'ada. The inauguration of the project was attended by the Secretary-General of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, Mr. AbdulMohsen Al-Tawoos; the Secretary-General of the Local Council in Dhamar Governorate, Mr. Mujahid Al-Ansi, and the Executive Director of NFDHR, Engineer Mohamed Salah.
The project activities in Ma'abar city include the supply and installation of a solar power system for Jabal Anwaa water project, the implementation of water network to Al-Wahda camp for the displaced and the surrounding areas of the camp, the supply of 4,830 cubic meters of water to Al-Wahda and Al-Salam camps for a period of 90 days, the construction and rehabilitation of 54 latrines, and the implementation of cleaning campaigns in IDP gathering sites.
During the ceremony of laying the foundation stone for the project, Mr. Tawoos, expressed appreciation of NFDHR interventions, which contribute to alleviating IDPs suffering and the host community in a sustainable manner. He also highlighted that the council encourages such projects that cover the needs of citizens, especially in the areas of water and health.
NFDHR Executive Director, on his part, emphasized the sustainability of the project in serving IDPs and host communities.
Eng. Salah also praised the efforts of the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs in facilitating and accelerating the launch of this sustainable project.
