National Development and Humanitarian Response Foundation (NFDHR) and Direct Aid Sign Cooperation Agreement to Implement Economic Empowerment Projects in Al-Hudaydah Governorate



Al-Hudaydah, Yemen, January 17, 2024 - The National Development and Humanitarian Response Foundation (NFDHR) and Direct Aid - Yemen Office signed a cooperation agreement today, Tuesday, to implement economic empowerment projects in Al-Hudaydah Governorate. The agreement was signed by Mr. Ali Batit, Country Director of Direct Aid Yemen Office, and Eng. Mohamed Salah, NFDHR Executive Director.

The agreement stipulates the implementation of various economic empowerment projects, including 30 economic empowerment projects for mothers of children suffering from malnutrition in Al-Zideia and Al-Dreheme districts, a project to establish farms using modern agricultural techniques for 10 beneficiaries, animal husbandry projects with 120 heads of cattle and goats, and a project to establish a community mill in Al-Marawi'a district that will grind grains for the community for a symbolic fee. This is to ensure the sustainability and success of the project.

These projects aim to empower poor and vulnerable families in Al-Hudaydah Governorate by contributing to reducing malnutrition cases, securing food for them, and providing job opportunities. These projects are considered an important step in the efforts being made to boost economic development in Al-Hudaydah Governorate and improve the lives of poor and vulnerable families.

The value of these projects is estimated at $195,807, and it is expected that more than 100 families will benefit from them.
