Training 20 women health workers on maternal and child nutrition counseling



20 women health workers participated in training course on nutritional counseling for mothers, infants and young children in health facilities in the districts of Khayran Muharraq and Mastaba in Hajjah Governorate, funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).
The training, conducted by the National Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response (NFDHR), over a period of 6 days, aims to introduce participants to the importance of breastfeeding for infants and children, alternative feeding in the first six months of the infants, common difficulties in the breastfeeding process, methods of feeding during illness and recovery, in addition to methods of feeding low birthweight newborn and gap-filling foods for iron, vitamin A and other nutrients, as well as feeding methods and techniques.
It is worth noting that NFDHR is currently implementing an emergency response project in health and nutrition for the displaced and host communities in the governorates of Hajjah and Al Hodeidah.
