Introductory workshop for WASH , Health, Education, and Shelter Project in Marib




NFDHR has officially launched the activities of project "Emergency Response in Water, Environmental Sanitation, Health, Nutrition, Education and Shelter for IPDs and affected people in Marib through the project introductory workshop.

The workshop aimed at introducing 25 participants from local authority and from the offices of the ministries of Health, Education and Water, and from the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs, about the activities of the project, which will benefit 31,244 BNFs, including 6481 IDPs in the districts of Rahba, Mahlia, and Majzr in Marib governorate, funded by Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

During the workshop, Health & Nutrition Program manager at NFDHR , Dr. Abdel Wahab Zina, reviewed the main project activities, in the field of Health, Education, WASH and Shelter. 
Health activities include providing health services in 5 health facilities and supporting them with medicines and operating expenses for a period of 8 months, as well as treating malnourished children.
While project activities in the field of Education focus on rehabilitation of 63 classrooms, the establishment of 18 safe spaces for education in IDP sites, supporting targeted schools with 240 school seats and supporting 3,500 school boys and girls with school bags. Regarding WASH activities, Zeina clarified that NFDHR will rehabilitate Water projects and organize health awareness sessions, in addition to providing trucked-water to distribution points in IDP sites for a period of 120 days.
In the field of Shelter, the project will support the targeted families with Non-Food Shelter kits (bedding) and basic Shelter Kits (household items).
