NFDHR Launches Training Program to Enhance Capabilities of the Administrative Body of Water User Associations in Hadramout



Within the implementation of the project of enhancing food security through increasing agricultural production for farmers in Hadramout governorate, NFDHR launched the program for training the administrative body of Water User Associations in Eideed, Al-Thabra, and Mushatta in Tarim district, Hadramout governorate.

The 21-day training program includes many themes that discuss administrative development of institutions, cash-for-work mechanism, water resource management, economic empowerment, community cohesion and conflict resolution, as well as good governance, with the aim of developing and enhancing the capabilities of 27 trainee members of the project administrative body.

The training program inauguration took place in presence of Mr. Ahmed Abu Bakr Al-Shatri, Director of Agriculture Department in Tarim District, Mr. Muhammad Abdullah Ba Shuaib, Director of the Social Affairs Department, Ms. Warda Rabie, NFDHR Coordinator in Hadramout Governorate; and Salem Ashour, the Program Facilitator.

The project is implemented by United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), in partnership with NFDHR, and in coordination with the local authority, funded the State of Kuwait.
