With IDPs participation, large-scale clean-up campaign terminate in As-Safra district, Saada governorate



 
National Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response (NFDHR) concluded the first clean-up campaign within the activities of Support of Camp Management Project through Capacity Building and Simple Maintenance Activities for Displaced Persons implemented in As-Safra and Sahar districts, and funded by the Yemen Humanitarian Fund (YHF).

The project coordinator, Eng. Sadiq Handhal, explained that the three-day campaign aimed to remove 200 cubic meters of the accumulated piles of garbage and residues from the IDPs' communities in Al Qayada and Al Manaa sites in As-Safra district.

The coordinator clarified that the champagne included 78 workers from the displaced people targeted by the project by applying the cash-for-work mechanism.

Eng. Handhal indicated that the campaign was implemented in coordination with the branch of the Supreme Council for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and the Cleaning and Improvement Fund in the governorate.

NFDHR is scheduled to implement a second campaign in Sahar district within October.
