NFDHR office in Marib starts the distribution of food assistance to displaced and affected Households



Thursday, 4 June 2020, the teams of the National Foundation for Development and Humanitarian Response (NFDHR) started the process of distributing the monthly food assistance (May cycle) provided by the World Food Programme (WFP) to the displaced and affected households in Marib Governorate.

The director of NFDHR’s office in Marib Governorate, Majed Al-Salahi, said that the Foundation targets 22,396 displaced and affected households in Sirwah, Marib, Madghal, Raghwan, Rahba, Mahilya and Majzar Districts.Pointing out that the distribution process takes place amid strict precautionary measures to ensure the protection of workers and beneficiaries from the emerging of Coronavirus infection; such as ,allocating each day to only 100 beneficiaries in each of the 30 distribution points in the targeted districts, as well as organizing beneficiaries and spacing them at least 1 meter between each other, in addition to providing sterilizers, soap and water, and sensitizing the beneficiaries of the need to wash their hands before entering the distribution points and after leaving them.

Al-Salahi added that NFDHR's office in Marib Governorate is also in charge of distributing food assistance to the Districts of Na'man, Nati', Maswarah, and as Sawma'ah in Al-Bayda Governorate, due to its proximity to Marib for 8,141 displaced, affected, and poor Households.
